Dry secures European U23 Selection Standard (29th June 09)

Having already secured the 2010 Commonwealth Games qualifying standard 3 times in as many weeks, WSIS supported hammer thrower final achieved his goal of achieving the selection standard for the U23 European championships to be held in Lithuanian in July. 

Dry has been hovering around the 67.00 – 68.00m mark for the last month, unable to reach the 69.00m required for the Europeans. But all that changed this weekend as he threw a life time best of 69.40m that not only secured qualification, but brought him the gold medal and a new championship record at the Avian England U20 and U23 Championships and European Trials in Bedford.
